Problem : Extraordinary craft, invisible brand
Cardona produces handcrafted leather footwear of genuine luxury quality โ each pair built by skilled Colombian artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. The product deserved a premium market position. The brand did not reflect it.
Without a strong visual identity, Cardona struggled to differentiate itself from mid-market alternatives and international mass-luxury labels. The craftsmanship was invisible. The story was untold. The brand had no language to communicate the value that existed in every stitch, every sole, every piece of hand-finished leather.

Solution : A brand built on heritage & restraint
The design system was built around a single principle: luxury communicates through what it doesn't say. A custom logotype draws from the geometric precision of high-end European footwear typography while rooting itself in a distinctly Colombian aesthetic โ confident, unhurried, refined.
The color palette โ deep bone, raw leather, and obsidian โ echoes the natural materials Cardona works with every day. The typography hierarchy, spacing system, and graphic language were designed to feel as considered as the footwear itself: nothing wasted, nothing missing.

Challenge : Luxury without losing origin
The hardest design problem wasn't making Cardona look expensive โ it was making it look authentically Colombian and expensive at the same time. Generic luxury codes (black, gold, serif type) exist everywhere. They would have erased exactly what makes Cardona worth wearing.
Every touchpoint โ from the identity manual to the tissue paper inside the box โ had to carry the same balance: the precision of international luxury craftsmanship and the warmth of Colombian origin. The system also had to scale across very different surfaces: hand-stamped leather tags, printed boxes, Instagram posts, and storefront signage, without losing coherence at any scale.
Summary : A brand ready to command its price
Cardona now has a visual identity that earns the price point its footwear deserves. The brand system positions it as a genuine luxury player in the Colombian market โ with a coherent identity that travels across print, digital, retail, and product without losing its character.
The project delivered a complete corporate identity manual โ giving the Cardona team a living document to maintain brand consistency as the brand grows, hires, and scales into new markets.
